World Press Freedom Day 2024; May 3rd.

FORUM: "A Press for the planet: Journalism is the face of the environmental crisis." World Press Freedom Day 2024. 30 years after the historic Santiago Declaration, which advanced media independence and pluralism, UNESCO reaffirms its worldwide commitment to defending press freedom of expression. On 2 - 4 May, the Government of Chile and UNESCO will host the 31st World Press Freedom Day Conference in Santiago. The commemoration will be dedicated to the importance of journalism and freedom of expression in the context of the current global environmental crisis.
